This report, the seventh of its kind published by DDI, includes survey responses from 13, 124 leaders, 1,528 global human resource executors, and 2,031 participating organizations. The number of respondents allows DDI to look at insights from a variety of perspectives – multinational vs. The report is comprehensive and contains more than one blog post of data and insights, so I will highlight some of the highlights here …! When HR professionals were asked to rate two critical leadership skills for leadership success over the next three years, and the focus of their organisation’s current development programs, the level of focus of most skills was commensurate with how critical the skills were assessed. for the future. While the DDI and Conference Board report was full of great details like the one mentioned above, much attention was paid to one particular section of the report: the section on gender diversity. The report shows that organizations with better financial performance have more women in leadership roles. Organizations in the top 20% for financial performance report that 37% of all leaders are women vs. organizations in the bottom 20%, who reported that only 19% of all leaders are women.

While this clearly demonstrates the positive benefits of gender diversity, it also demonstrates how turbulent gender demographics remain for leadership. A DDI survey explains this inequality in several ways. There was no significant difference between men and women in the study in terms of leadership skills or ability to deal with management and business demands, but a significant difference between gender was their confidence levels. Women were less likely than men to consider themselves as effective leaders in carrying out international tasks, leading across geographies or countries, or leading geographically dispersed teams. Has the diversity increased? Has gender equality increased? Does religion play a more or less important role than it has in the past? And are family ties stronger or weaker than before? The Pew Research Center asked these questions to 30, 133 people in 27 countries.

The results are clear on three of these aspects. Average classes of about seven and ten say their countries are becoming more diverse and gender equality has increased over the last 20 years. And about six out of ten across the countries surveyed say family relationships are weakened.

As for the importance of religion, there is more variation by country. Overall, an average of 37% say religion does not play as important a role in their countries as it did 20 years ago, and 27% say it does.

For all four questions, a significant percentage of the population (about one in five) say there has been no change in the last two decades.

To better understand this, follow up on our initial questions on diversity, gender equality, family ties and religion: Is this good or bad for the country? To accurately classify these responses, we assumed people who said there was an increase (for example in diversity) and that this was a good thing, and then combined them with people who said that your diversity has gone down and thinks they that would be evil. On the other hand, we put together people who said it would be a rise and that it would be bad for those who see a reduction in diversity and think it would be good for society.

This allows us to measure support for increasing or decreasing diversity, gender equality and a more important role for religion in their countries. Given that large majorities in most countries have told us that family ties are weakening and that this is a bad thing, this analysis is not of concern to us.

One difficulty with how this question was constructed and analyzed is that those who say that their country has not changed on the various issues are kept in the “No change” column for the follow – up analysis. So for those who did not recognize any change – and therefore change has no effect – it is difficult to determine whether they think the status quo is good because no social change has happened, or bad because it has not. there has been a lot of change in society.

The results of this analysis show that people are strongly in favor of enhanced gender equality, but have a broader enthusiasm for increasing ethnic, religious and racial diversity. And despite secularization trends, most of the 27 countries surveyed are not opposed to a more important role for religion in their society.

In addition, about half or more in 24 of the countries surveyed say that family ties are weakening, and in all of those countries at least half say that this is a bad thing. In Indonesia and the Philippines, people think that family relationships are getting stronger and that this is a good thing. The Nigerians are divided over the state of the family unions in their country.

In 2002, the first 44 – nation Global Attitudes Survey focused on the concept of “globalization” and how it affects the lives of people and countries around the world. However, in many countries, it is recognized that gender inequality persists and that men often lead better lives than women.

By 2013, the Center was keen to address issues of diversity, morality, and minority acceptance in order to better understand change.
