Designed to educate children in a diverse and inclusive environment – from school to community to home – through early childhood education programs at Columbia University Teachers College. We prepare educators to work in kindergartens, schools, homes and environmental conditions. Our programs are child-centered (from birth to grade 2) and are dedicated to culturally relevant internships. We focus on preparing early educators to support the development and learning of all young learners through a graduate curriculum that includes early childhood education, special education for young children, and the content of bilingual education. . Our certified students become outstanding childhood teachers, decision makers and leaders. We offer Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education early in the year (with and without certification) as well as Ed.D. Degree in Early Childhood Education and Policy.

Early Childhood Education Associates Degree Online
In this course, students will begin with an overview of child development. This forms an important foundation. Students need to understand why, in terms of child development, teaching is appropriate. Students must also be able to recognize developmental differences in the classroom. The next material in the course will show you how to create a practice that is suitable for development, why it is important, and what benefits it will bring to your child. This course covers assessment topics related to early childhood practice. We start with the basics of evaluation, including recommended principles and practices and how to evaluate assessment tools.
