In addition to the specialized knowledge base, the course aims to develop your communication and other skills.
In addition to the standard 12-month program, we also offer a two-year postgraduate program with an optional integrated work placement component. This option is available to both international and full-time home/EU students of this course.

The first module explores how the hematopoietic system develops at different stages of human development and growth, and then focuses on tumors of the hematopoietic and lymphatic tissues, including acute and chronic leukemias, myeloproliferative neoplasms, multiple myeloma and lymphomas. The module examines the molecular basis of these diseases, as well as the pathophysiology, diagnosis and available treatment. Students are encouraged to develop a critical approach to the subject through case studies and interpretation of data. Methods used in the diagnosis of hematological malignancies are also explored in practical laboratory sessions.
This is an optional module for students applying to the Medical Microbiology via the MSc Biomedical Science and Biomedical Science with MSc Management programmes. In the module the known structures of microorganisms are introduced and discussed in the context of their use in taxonomic grouping and to aid in the identification of microbial agents. In addition, the module also explores the general principles of both traditional and molecular laboratory methods of infectious disease investigation. Students’ knowledge is developed through in-depth consideration of specific infectious diseases of current importance, with core material delivered by external medical experts.
