One-on-one meetings with a college counselor give participants the opportunity to explore personalized career and higher education options. Due to the high ratio of college counselors to students in our public schools, this feature of the program has proven to be very valuable to our participants.

Penticton Art Gallery is seeking two experienced, innovative, team-oriented and passionate individuals for our Children’s Art Program. These positions will be responsible for planning and coordinating the Penticton Art Gallery’s Creative Kids Art Adventures Program. Successful candidates will develop and implement an ongoing summer program that expands outside of the Gallery during the summer months to serve the community’s youth and introduce them to relevant art experiences and skills. This program will introduce new people to art in all its forms, will focus on art history and will coincide with our ongoing exhibitions that will be held during the summer months. The participant will work closely with the Gallery Director/Director, Director and Education and Program Coordinator, and other Gallery staff to develop and promote a sustainable, dynamic summer arts and education program. Our ideal candidates are those who are highly educated, have a strong interest in the arts and are able to work independently and with others. Special consideration will be given to those who are currently or plan to enroll in a technical or academic program. As this program will primarily deal with children and youth, the candidate will need to have a background check with the R.C.M.P. before starting work. Candidates must have basic knowledge of computer systems, including the Internet and word processing, although these skills can be further developed through the project. Our main language is English, although a second language would be helpful.
